Month: March 2009
Naughton, Henderson (2) and Craig Beattie for the Blades.
Very open, end to end game. Lots of chances and could easily have been a higher score. Over 27,000 crowd were in good voice. Strengthened our 4th place in the Championship, moved to 1 point behind Reading in 3rd.
Top players today – Jamie Ward (on his full debut) ran and chased all over the front line. Naysmith had a good game at full back. O’Toole made his debut and was notable in the first half, bringing the ball down and making intelligent passes. Other strong performances all around the team. MOTM – Ward.
Went with Jeff and what a cracking game. Sun in our eyes – good seats behind the goal – and Jeff with his new specs could see the action at the Bramall Lane end more clearly than usual. A bright and breezy afternoon, instead of the rain that had been forecast.
Only lost one lure, which isn’t too bad for time spent there.
Weather pleasant at the start, at times the water was completely still like glass (see pics). Then drizzle came in and eventually became persistent rain.
A nice session, apart from lack of fish.
Fasting cholesterol test shows a more accurate total cholesterol of 6.4.
High ratio of bad:good cholesterol so prescribed statins.
Green light to get exercising and ready for the BGYR 10k in September.
Weighed in 12/3/09:

Lost 4lb / 1.5kg this week.
Lost 11lb / 4.5kg since 11 Feb (4 weeks 1 day)
Just signed up to do the BGYR 10k on 6 September in Sheffield. Better get some trainers, and then its off to Rother Valley Country Park for some training.
Thinking of raising money for British Heart Foundation, but need to figure out the fundraising website stuff at justgiving. Raising cash for a charity will give me motivation when it gets tough – as I’m sure it will!
Will post my training progress updates here in this blog…
