0C, frosty and cold. In fact the actual temp will have been a few degrees below zero, this was the house window thermometer. White frost everywhere, so wrapped up well for this 16 mile/2.5 hour run. Had a gel before starting and two more on the run, and drank 500ml water. Followed the same route as three weeks ago, run #731. Maintained an easy pace in HR zone 2 for most of it and really enjoyed the sunrise and clear blue skies, excellent running weather. Not that much ice about to catch me out. For the last three miles another chap ran alongside me, and I picked up my pace to match (he’s faster than me), so my HR went from 145 to 156. But I’d felt strong throughout, legs having lots of bounce, and this extra effort was OK. Felt like I could have gone on and on, I wasn’t overtired at the finish. Six weeks to the London Marathon 🙂

4C, cold, damp underfoot. There was a chill north-easterly wind, for a change. The plan called for a 60 minute run in HR zone 2. A nice, straightforward run, no niggles. It felt like a slow Marathon Pacing Session, with the consistent pace I ended up doing. Nice low average HR too.
