10C, overcast and raining. The plan called for a 45 minute run in HR zone 2. Took it steady and kept in that zone, apart from the run up out of RV. The rain was persistent but not a problem. Straightforward run.

9C, cool, mostly cloudy. The plan called for a 60 minute run in HR zones 1-2. That’s one full lap of RV and one lap of just the main lake. There was a cold headwind on the near side, from the south, and the other side felt milder and was sheltered. Legs felt tired and stiff and it took the first lap to loosen up. Then I saw my HR fall slightly while my pace increased slightly. No problems. Drank 500ml water.

Just one week to go to the London Marathon. Plan to pick up my race number on the Wednesday afternoon as I’ve scheduled to be in London that day for a work matter.

Distance: 10.63 km (6.6 miles)
Time: 1:01:54

15C, cloudy and dull. The plan called for a 45 minute run in HR zone 2. Set out after returning from a day working in Warrington. Didn’t feel like it, but legs were strong and in the mild weather I ran a bit faster than the plan and HR was more in zone 3 than 2. Drank 500ml water. Straightforward.

10C, misty and overcast. Went for a run after a day spent driving to/from Newcastle for work. Wasn’t sure about the high pollution levels reported in the news. Had a slight headache and wondered if I ought to put off the run to avoid breathing stuff in. The plan called for a 45 minute run including 20 minutes at marathon pace. Legs felt strong and bouncy, no problems. Started a bit dehydrated so carried and drank 500ml water.

Distance: 7.27km

Avg pace: 5:34 min/km

10C, overcast, breezy. Heavy rain overnight so lots of puddles. The plan called for a 45 minute run with 2x 800m intervals, 400m jog recovery. I did the second interval at 4:34 min/km (target 5:19 min/km or faster); for me that’s fast. No problems.
