8C, mild, windy. Another 7 mile run. Noticed right heel on the first lap, less so on the second. Very windy, a headwind and some running on the spot on the near side of RV. Felt strong and enjoyed the run. Bit of drizzle on the second lap.

6C, cool, breezy. Went for a 7 mile run. Took hat off at 1km, to avoid overheating. Noticed right heel on and off, and the pace felt slow. Ended up 3 minutes slower than best time last week, but happy to get around nicely and at least my average HR was lower.

4C, cool, sun with a bit of cloud. Went for a 13 mile run, the longest since my injury. Thought it would be sensible as one of my midweek runs was only 4 miles, so the combined weekly mileage wasn’t ramping up too quickly if I did this today. Set out steady and just enjoyed the sunrise, back on an old route I last did in late September or early October. Wore running tights but ditched the gloves and hat. Good call, as the temperature rose to 7C by the end of the run. Consumed 500ml water and two gels. Was tired by the end but could have done more. Buzzing to get back to this ‘normal’ (for me) weekend distance, thinking back to November when I was limping around and fearing a really long layoff 🙂

1C, cold and frosty. Went for a 7 mile run and the actual temperature was certainly lower than the house thermometer reported. The snow had almost all gone, and there were just frozen puddles and a few slippy bits. A chill headwind on this side of RV was the most notable thing about the run. Felt like I was running with a better toe-off, a longer stride, probably because most of the route was dry and ice free. Got my second wind on the second lap and was surprised and pleased with the time. Making good progress since my injury.

Distance: 11.61km

Forgot to blog this Monday’s run, so the run #numbering is off now, but never mind.

Think it was 5C, cold, breezy, and I did my usual 7 miles. Usual niggle right heel, can’t remember much else other than I had most of RV to myself. I recall seeing a runner leaving RV as I ran down, and that was it, two solo laps.

Distance: 11.55km
Time: 1:09:25
Avg HR: 142bpm
Avg pace: 6:01 min/km

3C, cold and overcast. Overnight snowfall presented me with 1-2 inches of wet, slushy snow, and as I got up a bit late I decided to do just one lap, 4 miles. It was heavy going and the time/pace stats are meaningless. But I felt good for getting it done and beating the weather all the same. So more of a psychological win than a great training session.

2C, cold, blue skies, chill wind. Did a 10 mile run. Settled into a nice running rhythm straight away and the laps went by nicely. Just managed to get through the assembled runners at the start of the RV Park Run in time, before they set off clockwise. HR rose on the second lap and stayed high for the third lap. Virtually no niggles today. Used foam roller after breakfast, will see if it’ll help my right heel niggle.
