12C, cool and breezy.  As I’d only managed one weekday run I thought I’d have enough in my legs today for a 13 mile run.  Since my Achilles injury I’ve been increasing mileage gradually and got up to 10 miles, so this is the next step up. Back to my regular weekend distance.  Felt fine, enjoyed the sunrise, and hardly gave my Achilles a second thought.  Drank 500ml water and had 2 gels.  After breakfast my legs stiffened a bit and my Achilles let me know I’d stretched the mileage. But a great run nevertheless 🙂

12C, cool but sunny.  Went for a 7 mile run.  I’d just learned the news that Justin Wilson had passed away (motor racing incident) and spent most of the run filled with thoughts of his family. That meant I didn’t focus much on form but I actually ran faster than of late, and if I’d not had a heavy heart I’d have enjoyed the perfect sunrise.

19C, warm, humid, cloudy.  Went for a 10 mile run. Tried to keep the pace slightly above ‘plodding around’.  I focused on my running form, where my feet were landing and how I was powering my forward motion.  This seemed to work, I finished with more energy than last weekend’s run.  A light rain shower on the third lap. Drank 500ml water.

16C, mild, mostly cloudy.  Went for a 7 mile run. Heavy overnight rain left some puddles around RV.  Tried to push a little rather than plod around, hence the increased heart rate. Felt OK and a bit surprised it wasn’t faster than 1:07.  Saw a nice sunrise and a full rainbow.

14C, overcast, mild.  Got up earlier than usual to get this run in before taking Jacqui to an appointment.  My legs still had a bit of tiredness from Sunday’s long run, and I was surprised how slow the time was (for me).  Enjoyed it though, plodding around with just 2-3 other runners about at this hour.  Drank 500ml water.

9C, sunny, clear blue skies, slight breeze.  Went for a 10 mile run. Felt right heel and left thigh for the first lap of RV. Nice running in the slightly cooler temperature, and the breeze was cooling on the first lap.  Drank 500ml water.

17C, warm, sunny.  Another 7 mile run.  Felt right heel for the first lap, then it eased off and I got a second wind.  This one was a little bit faster than Monday’s slow run. GPS seemed a bit off, with the first km split coming before Meadowgate roundabout; it’s usually as I enter RV and turn onto the path round the lake. Drank 500ml water.

Distance:  11.89km – about 300m too far?

19C, warm, bright but overcast.  Went for a 7 mile run.  It felt slow, and was slow (for me). Pleased to plod round in the heat and enjoyed a bit of very light drizzle towards the end.

15C, warm, sunny.  Went for a 10 mile run, three laps of RV.  Felt right heel for the first lap, didn’t seem fast or strong but kept a fairly steady pace.  My left thigh tired late on, but it was good to get this done today. Nice weather, no major problems and the longest run since my Achilles flared up / Liverpool marathon.  Drank 500ml water.

Hoping I will soon be back to 3x 7 mile runs on weekdays and 13 miles at the weekend, my ‘routine’ pattern when not on a marathon training schedule. This week was 2x 7 miles (Tu & Th) and 10 miles on the weekend.

17C, warm, breezy.  Another 7 mile run. I’ve got my Garmin fixed now, with a replacement strap. Pleased to get a bit longer out of it.  The run was straightforward, a bit too warm for me, especially when the sun came out on the second lap.
