3C, cold, overcast. Went for a 15 mile run. Started off at a slow pace, kept it easy in the middle and finished feeling better than last weekend’s 13 miler.  Drank 500ml water and had gels at 8 km and 16km.  Occasional light drizzle turned into rain on the return through Wales and around Rother Valley.  Slight right heel niggle in the first km and more blistering on left instep. Really need to get some new trainers bought.  Ten weeks to Manchester Marathon. Forty weeks to New York Marathon.

11C, gale force winds, mild.  Another 7 mile run. Nearly stayed in bed listening to the wind howling outside, but got up and did it.  Knew it would not be a fast run, but finished in a similar time to yesterday.  Felt right heel niggle and a blister on left instep.

2C, cold, clear skies, windy.  Another 7 mile run. Felt right heel for the first few km.  A big change in temperature from yesterday.  Only needed run light for the first lap.  A straightforward run.

13C, windy and wet. Another 7 mile run and it felt strangely mild for late January. Gale force gusts today so didn’t expect a fast time.  The usual niggles and didn’t feel strong at first.  The second lap was better, felt I got a second wind (if you’ll pardon the pun).  Heavy showers on both laps gave me a good soaking.

7C, overcast, windy and cool. Another 7 mile run. Felt strong but didn’t push too hard. A stiff headwind had me running on the spot in parts.  Hardly any niggles today.

12C, mild and cloudy/overcast.  Went for a 13 mile run. Strangely mild so shorts and T-shirt only. Thought I’d better take water as I’d had a Chose the night before, nothing to drink before setting out (as usual) and the temp had risen overnight. Carried and drank 500ml water, and two gels.  The usual niggles but paced myself OK and got round comfortably. A total of 41 miles this week; 7+7+7+7+13.

6C, damp and breezy. Another 7 mile run. Light rain for the first half, a bit of respite on second lap, then heavy rain for the last 2km. Quite a stiff, cold headwind on the nearside of the park. Various niggles but felt OK and another similar time. That’s four runs back to back this week, and planning a long run Sunday.
