7C, cool, overcast. A 10 mile run.  I set off at first light to avoid the hordes doing the park run.  Most of the route was damp from melted frost, but in places it was still white and very slippery! Seemed to maintain a fairly consistent easy pace, tired a little on the third lap. Drank 500ml water.

4C, cold, frosty, clear skies. An easy 4 mile recovery run. Deliberately kept to an easy pace and got a more typical average heart rate in return. Another lovely sunrise and I enjoyed the crisp cold weather.

2C, cold and frosty, clear skies. A 7 mile run. Tried wearing the Fitbit Surge higher up my wrist for better HR tracking but it wobbled about. Moved it back to my wrist bone at 1.2k.

I think the average HR would have been in the low-mid 150s, but I literally sprinted the last 1.4k around Rother Valley. I’d been gradually catching up to a slower runner and expected to pass them easily around the northern lake. But they inexplicably speeded up, they’d not been doing intervals or fartlek up until then. So I lifted my knees and sprinted to the park exit and up the hill. A good exercise for my legs anyway.

The cold sunny weather was great, I loved the low sun beaming across the water.

0C, clear skies, white frost everywhere, cold. A 4 mile run. It felt like my cold was going away so went for a run, lovely crisp winter weather.  Needed hat and running tights today.

First run with new Fitbit Surge watch that Emma and Ash gave me for Christmas.  HR measurement seems high, could be due to my cold or might try the watch in a different position.

4C, cold, dark, overcast. A 4 mile run. I picked up a head cold at the weekend so planned to take it easy and see how it goes. Managed ok.

If there’s a gap in my blog posting you’ll be able to figure out maybe the cold has gone onto my chest. Hope I can fight it off rather than succumb to it over Christmas.

6C, cool, clear skies. A 7 mile run. Set out at first light so I didn’t need head torch, and I missed the park run crowd. Tried to keep to an easy pace. A straightforward run.

Work got in the way of doing more weekday runs this week, I had to be in London Weds and Thurs.
