6C, cool, breezy. A 13 mile run. Shorts and tshirt in the middle of January. Went on my usual half marathon route, seems a while since I’ve done it. Kept the pace easy. Enjoyed it.  No ankle problems. Drank 500ml water and had 2 gels.

-1C, dark and cold. A 5 mile run. Had the park to myself. Going round the northern lake again to add a mile I turned my left ankle. On a flat tarmac stretch of path I was completely surprised when my foot landed on something and I only just managed to avoid falling. Stopped and found a big clod of frozen earth on the path. Managed to jog slowly the 3km to home and now it just feels a bit tender, hope it’ll be fine for the long run on Sunday.

5C, dark, cold and frosty. A 7 mile run at easy pace. I was surprised the paths were still mostly frozen white at 5C.  Only saw 2 other people, one walking a dog and the other apparently just walking in the dark.  A straightforward run.

1C, cold, clear skies. A 5 mile run. There were icy puddles and slippery stretches of path today, and a biting-cold northerly wind. I just aimed to do a gentle pace, it was nice and straightforward with a glorious sunrise.
