14-18C, warm. Needed to recce first part of Nine Edges race route, see if the GPS track I’ve downloaded is easy to follow and get a feel for difficulty. The race is next weekend. Total run today just under 15 miles.

Did first 8-9 miles of the route, seeing Derwent Edge and the beginning of Stanage. Then dropped down to Ladybower and back to the car. Kept it easy, took photos, a couple of wrong turns and fell when my right foot found a rabbit hole. No damage.

Time: 3:38:49

Avg pace: 13:36 min/mile

Ascent: 2219ft

Wildlife: cows, sheep, played hide and seek with a grey squirrel on a tree trunk, grouse (I think)
