2C, cold, frosty. An 8 mile run including intervals (3x 1600m with 400m recovery).  Wrapped up well for this chilly run.  Minor heel niggle that quickly wore off.  Drank 500ml water. As usual, I enjoyed the intervals, a good test. Fastest km split was 5:06 min/km today.

6C, cold, windy, cloudy. An easy 6.5 mile run. Wore new Salomon jacket expecting a rain shower, which didn’t happen but it kept the chill wind out.  Drank 500ml water.

7C, cool, cloudy, windy. A 21 mile run. Legs felt OK without being super-strong, so kept it easy.  The wind was strong, mostly southerly or southwesterly.  Clouds threatened rain but I was lucky, it held off.  Had 4 gels and 1 litre of water. No heel niggles of note.  New trainers OK at this distance.  Though I slowed towards the end I was comfortable.  Even thought of going a little bit further as I approached home, but stuck to the plan I had.

9C, rain, strong winds. A 6.5 mile run.  Maintained easy effort on this run, as much as is possible in a stiff north westerly wind.  Heavy rain set in halfway round the first lap.  Drank 500ml water.  Might as well have tipped the bottle over me, got soaked.

9C, cool, very windy. An 8 mile run, including 60 minutes of Marathon Pacing Session.  Legs felt OK and heels hardly niggled at all.  Drank 500ml water.  The strong wind made it tough going on the far side of RV.  A good workout.

8C, mild, broken cloud. A 6.5 mile run.  Legs felt heavy after yesterday’s long run.  Both heels were sore too, though they eased off after a few km.  Drank 500ml water.  Only needed head torch for half a lap.

The main thing about the run was my first run out in new trainers.  Could not find a pair of Brooks Ghost 9 in store in my size to try on.  Different upper to last years model so needed to put them on. So bought nearest model instead, Brooks Glycerin 14.  They seemed OK.

8C, mild, dry, mostly overcast. A 20 mile run.  The schedule called for 16 miles but I thought about doing 17.5 or 20. Want to push past 20 miles at some point and legs felt well rested so 20 miles was on.

Drank 1 litre of water and had 4 gels. At Todwick roundabout I turned into a cool headwind that stayed with me through Swallownest and along the Beighton bypass.

Went through 13 miles in 2 hours (good for me) and feeling OK. In the last couple of miles kept an OK pace and wasn’t in any real difficulty.  At the finish I’d knocked a minute off last week’s time, but its more important to get round in good shape and avoiding injury.

5C, cool, clear skies.  A 9 mile run with 60 minutes of Marathon Pace Session.  The plan called for 50 minutes of MPS but I stretched it to the park exit.  Legs were tired and heavy at the beginning but I soon got going and enjoyed this run.  Did 2 full laps and 2 extra loops of the northern lake.  The dawn sun approached as I did the second lap, nice after a long spell of dank, grey weather.
