6C, cool, clear skies, windy.  Another 7 miles for the last run of the year.  Felt really tired after building a wardrobe and lifting new bedroom furniture yesterday, but decided I had to get a run in to keep on marathon schedule.  Could only plod around and while it was windy it wasn’t making me run on the spot, so can’t blame that for a very slow time.  Heart rate was reasonable though 🙂  Still struggling with a blister on left instep.

12C, cloudy, gale force winds.  Went for a 7 mile run with Frank – Storm Frank.  The Garmin stats are irrelevant for this run. On the nearside of RV the headwind was difficult, I was running on the spot in parts. On the far side the wind helped me along a bit.  Overall, it felt like doing a hill run, or running with resistance, so a good workout.  Still blistering on left instep.

9C, a cool and bright day.  Another 7 mile run. Felt right heel for the first km, then fine. Running slightly later than usual there were plenty of people around, didn’t have the park to myself.  Rubbed a blister on left instep so will have to start taping that up again.

7C, cool, clear skies.  Went for a 7 mile run. Had felt something in left knee on Christmas Eve, like I’d pinched a bit of cartilage, but didn’t feel it on this run.  Wet underfoot after heavy overnight rain, but a nice sunrise and the wind had died down.

7C, clear skies, cool and still windy.  Another 7 mile run.  Slight heel niggle at the start.  Didn’t check Garmin at all during the run, just ran by feeling and pleased with the average heart rate today.  Spotted lots of rabbits dashing for cover with my run light.  Good to do back to back runs.

14C, mild and windy (and dark).  Another 7 mile run. Felt right heel slightly at the start and end, but not painful.  I thought I’d done a quicker time than Garmin recorded, probably hard to judge with the running light and strong wind.  16 weeks to Manchester marathon.

12C, cloudy, breezy, mild.  Went for an easy pace 7 mile run.  Had a busy work week but now hoping to get back running regularly with Christmas approaching.  Needed running light for both laps.  Minor niggles right heel on and off.

13C, mild, cloudy and windy.  Went for a 7 mile run. Didn’t need the long sleeved top, it was so mild a tshirt would have been fine.  It’s 18 weeks to the Manchester marathon in April, so I need to build up the running, get out more frequently. I’ve got business trips to Glasgow and London this week, but hope I can get more runs in over Christmas.

It’s also 48 weeks to the New York marathon. Need to get that booked when the tour companies start taking bookings in the next week or two. Should also look for new trainers as I’ve calculated my ‘white trainers #2’ have now done over 850 miles…
